Dr. Bennett is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in health psychology. Dr. Bennett has been an integral part of the Healthy Within team since 2014, where she practices neurofeedback and conducts qEEG evaluations. She is passionate about mind-body approaches to health, which is what has drawn her to neurofeedback, biofeedback, and behavioral medicine interventions. A focus of her clinical and research experience has been in integrating behavioral health and advanced technologies such as neurofeedback and virtual reality into medical settings. For example, Dr. Bennett has practiced as a neurofeedback and biofeedback therapist in a primary care setting. Her dissertation studied the psycho-physiological effects during virtual reality exposure therapy for spider fear. Similarly, Dr. Bennett utilizes cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness based interventions in her clinical practice. Alongside her role at Healthy Within, Dr. Bennett is a clinical psychologist in the Integrated Behavioral Health team within UCSD Department of Family Medicine.

Dr. Bennett earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology with a health emphasis at Alliant International University, California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego. She completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine with a focus on primary care behavioral health that included training in behavioral sleep medicine and pre-organ transplant evaluations. Following internship, she completed an APA- accredited post-doctoral fellowship in primary care mental health, behavioral medicine, and psycho-oncology at the San Diego VA hospital. Additionally, Dr. Bennett is BCIA board certified in biofeedback. Outside of Healthy Within, Dr. Bennett enjoys spending time in nature, traveling, and spending quality time with friends and family.
