Zach McClellan

Zach is a recent graduate of Chaminade University of Honolulu, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. A dedicated student-athlete, he played four years of collegiate soccer and served as team captain, demonstrating strong leadership and teamwork skills both on and off the field.

With a deep-rooted passion for mental health, Zach aspires to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology, with a focus on firefighter mental health. Coming from a family of firefighters, he is especially driven to explore the emotional and psychological toll of the fire service and how it affects personal well-being.

In addition to their work on firefighter mental health, Zach is actively involved in sleep research. He is part of a research team studying sleep patterns and disorders across diverse populations, including student-athletes, nursing students, and Pacific Islander communities affected by sleep apnea. He believes in the power of sleep and advocates for its greater appreciation in overall health and wellness.

Outside of work and research, Zach enjoys surfing, hiking, reading, puzzles, and spending time at the beach. His favorite music genres include Reggae and Alternative Rock

Zach is gaining valuable experience at Healthy Within, where he is expanding his understanding of Neurofeedback and non-medication approaches to treating various brain conditions.
